Many successful entrepreneurs stand out because they’re great at time management. You can’t change the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day, but you can make the most of those hours by using the following strategies to save time.
Know Your Priorities
Focusing on your priorities is one way to save time. Identify what you truly need to get done in a given day, then focus on accomplishing that. This strategy will help you avoid wasting time on less important tasks.
Embrace Delegation
Delegation is another way to save time. While some entrepreneurs may feel like they have to do it all, the truth is that your time will best be spent on tasks that fall within your areas of expertise and truly need your attention. Otherwise, as business writer Alyssa Gregory points out, you’ll likely find yourself “overextended and highly frustrated.”
Delegation can let you offload the tasks that you’re not suited for and/or don’t need to be involved in. As an added bonus, delegating tasks to others is a way to demonstrate confidence-building trust in them.
Stay Off Social Media
Social media can be a huge distraction. Stay off of it while you’re trying to work. If the temptation is too great, consider installing browser extensions and apps that prevent you from accessing social media when you need to be productive.
Figure Out Your Prime Working Hours
An additional way to save time is to figure out when your prime working hours are. For example, if you’re extremely productive between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning each day, then consider blocking off that time to focus on your most important tasks. This way, your top projects will receive attention from you when you’re at your best.
